Justice Within is a global movement to unite people in meditation and prayer to raise consciousness, show solidarity, and call for peace. Rooted in spiritual vision, we practice sacred stillness — not to escape the world, but to engage it more deeply. From this place of heart-centered presence, we act with compassion, courage, and commitment to justice for Mohsen, for Palestine, and for all who are facing oppression.

Our Story
Justice Within began as Meditate With Mohsen — a simple, powerful daily practice of solidarity through meditation and prayer.
​
In April 2025, Mohsen Mahdawi — a Palestinian and humanitarian peace activist, meditative leader, and beloved Vermont community member — was unjustly detained by U.S. immigration officials and placed into deportation proceedings. This violation of his rights to free speech and due process sparked an outpouring of support.

We didn’t just meditate for Mohsen — we meditated with him, across borders, faiths, and time zones. What began as a response to injustice has become a growing movement of collective healing and resistance.

Justice Within is now expanding as a program of Mohsen’s emerging nonprofit, carrying forward his vision of peace, interfaith connection, and nonviolent transformation. Our community continues to deepen through daily meditation sessions, collaborative teachings, retreats, and active presence at social justice events.

This movement also grows from heart-centered fellowship. Mohsen and Samantha have been friends and members of the First Universalist Society of Hartland, VT, for over a decade. Rooted in years of experience with her own meditative practice — and deeply moved by Mohsen’s unwavering commitment to meditation during detainment — Samantha began holding daily group meditation sessions online and encouraged others to practice at rallies and events.

These gatherings have become a way to amplify Mohsen’s energy of compassionate love, to support those protesting and holding space in solidarity, and to offer a space where anyone can simply be — to reflect, to feel, to breathe, and to find peace within this movement.
We are a growing community rooted in love, committed to liberation — for Mohsen, for Palestine, and for all beings.
